We all need to recognise the importance of putting ourselves first. How can you help others when your cup is empty? If you don’t recharge your own batteries, then you won’t have the energy to be of service to those in your life that need you.

Being someone who is always helping others means that you are kind and that you have the virtue of kindness. That’s a truly wonderful gift! But, remember that you are important too. In fact, you are the most important person in your life.

Therefore, here are my top tips for taking time out for yourself and recharging your batteries in just 10 minutes:

  1. Set aside 10 minutes for yourself
  2. Set the intention that you are taking time out
  3. Make sure that you have no distractions and no one will disturb you
  4. Enter the space you intend to use with positivity, without guilt, and with the full intention to put yourself first and take a moment of peace
  5. Take a few moments for deep breathing and calming
  6. Release any negative thoughts, pent up emotions, frustrations et cetera
  7. Once you have spent 10 minutes with just you, you are free to return to your day
