Your Heart And Mind Are Connected

Everything changes. Sometimes it takes a long time, other times it happens much faster. One thing is for sure though, resistance is futile!  It is human nature to resist change and many of us have no idea how to cope with change. But why?

We like the way things are. We want things to stay the same because it makes us feel content, it makes us feel safe. We don’t want to step out of our comfort zone.

When we give in to resistance and step out of our comfort zone though, that is when we see the biggest results and when we create that feeling of euphoria, satisfaction and happiness.

5 Tips For Coping With Change

1. Take a deep breath and plunge right in. When we over analyse things, we can come up with a million reasons not to do something. It is just fear of the unknown. Embrace it and feel empowered that you have taken the decision to change.

2 Take control. When you are in control of a situation, you feel much more able to cope. Say to yourself, “I willingly accept these changes into my life and I can flow with them with ease and grace”. This positive affirmation will reinforce that you are the one who is actively leading the changes allowing them to happen without any difficulties.

3. Accept. When the change that is occurring is out with your control it is sometimes difficult to come to terms with it. Look for the positive, accept that it may be necessary in order to move forward and if will become easier to cope with what is happening.

4. Don’t resist. Instead of resisting, ask yourself what is the worst thing that could happen if you accept the change that is occurring.  Rationalising things can often put things in perspective and you realise that it won’t be as bad as you thing it might.

5. Be grateful. Acknowledge the things that have led up to the changes that are taking place or that you want to take place and be grateful for them being part of your journey through life. Once you acknowledge them, you can let them go with gratitude and more on.
