Research shows that people who spend a lot of time in nature generally experience greater happiness.

Those who maintain a deeper connection with the natural world often report higher life satisfaction and a heightened sense of purpose.

Nature has the capacity to evoke a range of positive emotions, including serenity, happiness, and enhanced creativity, while also fostering improved concentration.

Being in nature leads to reduced stress, depression and anxiety.

This retreat presents the opportunity to get back to nature and reset your nervous system using mindfulness and Mother Nature’s gifts.

 

What To Expect

Breathe in fresh air, listen to birdsong, paddle in the nearby stream and see for yourself how nature can help you heal.
Escape your usual routine for a few days to retreat into yourself and bond with sisters in a beautiful, tranquil environment that will nurture your soul.

A range of mindfulness-based activities are planned with plenty of time for reflection and contemplation.

For the ultimate reset, you’ll be offered the option to take a digital detox by checking your mobile phone in upon arrival.  This is not compulsory but highly recommended. A number will be provided in case of emergencies. There is no WiFi on site.

Hosted by mindfulness expert, Suz McDonald, you will journey to your inner wisdom and bring forth the confidence you are ready to show the world in the peace and tranquillity of Royal Deeside.

This retreat is for women over the age of 18 who are ready to put themselves first.

Where You’ll Sleep

Shared accommodation is available in glamping cabins, or for those who want more comfort, there are 2 private rooms and 1 twin room with ensuite facilities in our lodge where we will have our meals and some indoor activities.

Whilst the cabins sleep more guests than stated, we have kept occupancy to the minimum to allow for comfort and space.

If you are joining with a friend or partner we will do our best to ensure you are sharing. If you join us on your own, you’ll be paired with another retreat guest.

For a more luxurious experience, choose a bed in the bright and spacious lodge to share with other retreat guests.

*The kitchen, lounge and dining area will be used as the main areas for indoor meals and gatherings for all retreat attendees.

You’ll be allocated your accommodation a day early and you can settle in and relax.

Note: there is no retreat programme on the Thursday and you’ll be responsible for your own meals apart from breakfast.

For a truly immersive back-to-nature experience, choose to stay in a glamping cabin with a friend or another retreat guest.

NOTE: You will need to bring your own bedding.

Toilet and shower facilities are located on-site but not in the cabin.

NOTE: These cabins are big enough to sleep 3 guests comfortably. If you are a group of 3 friends and would like to share a cabin together, please reach out before booking and I will help you arrange this.

 

Food

All meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) are included from the start to the end of the retreat.

Tea, coffee, water and healthy snacks are available every day.
Please note: This is an alcohol-free retreat.

If you have any dietary requirements, please ensure you inform us on the booking form.

 

Getting There

The retreat site is located near Banchory, Aberdeenshire. Directions will be provided upon booking.

If you are travelling on public transport, we can collect you from the centre of Banchory and provide transfers from Aberdeen Airport and Stonehaven Train Station. (An additional fee will be charged for this service.)

 

What To Bring

  •      • A yoga mat, pillow and blanket for the sound bath
  •      • A camping chair ( if you are arriving via public transport we can provide one for you)

Suz McDonald

Suz is a certified mindfulness coach and holistic wellbeing specialist. She specialises in working with women who have lost their confidence and self-esteem to find their true authentic selves.

Suz is also a certified ThetaHealing Master Instructor Reiki Master Teacher, yoga teacher and sound therapist. She has been running retreats since 2016 in Vietnam, Dubai, Morocco and Scotland.

Using a combination of her knowledge and intuitive understanding of the mind, body and spirit, Suz is passionate about helping people rediscover themselves and their inner happiness.

Meet The Team

Sally Rose

My name is Sally and I love being outdoors and immersing myself in nature whether it’s walking or riding in the woods or just pottering in the garden. As a shamanic practitioner, I like to follow ancient traditions and rituals incorporating healing work with crystals, herbs and trees. Forest Bathing is my passion and I look forward to leading a session at this year’s retreat.

 

Tracey Blackie

Tracey is a certified Relax Kids coach. She enjoys working with people who have lost their confidence and self-esteem to find their true selves. She has developed her “Mellow Mind, Soothing Spirit “ program to provide people with a toolkit to help with anxiety and stress.

Tracey is also a certified ThetaHealing practitioner Reiki practitioner and Reflexologist.

Using a combination of her knowledge and understanding of the mind, body and spirit, Tracey is passionate about helping people rediscover themselves and their inner happiness.

A deposit of £95 (non-refundable) is required to secure your place.
50% of the remaining balance to be paid by bank transfer on booking.
The final balance will then be due by 17th April 2024.

 

Booking Policy

  •      • By booking, you confirm that you are a woman over the age of 18.
  •      • A £95 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place.
  •      • Each person attending the retreat must purchase a retreat pass which includes the type of accommodation they want. Prices vary depending on the accommodation selected.
  •      • 50% of the remaining balance due should be paid by 18th March 2024.
  •      • The final balance payment is due by 17th April 2024.
  •      • Cancellation must be given in writing no later than 7 days before the event. Please see our refund policy below.
  •      • A retreat waiver must be signed prior to attending. This will be sent out individually to all participants.
  •      • You may transfer your place to another person if you can no longer attend. Any changes to attendees must be notified in writing and agreed to by the organiser – beware of scammers attempting to sell tickets they have not purchased.

 

Refund Policy

  •      • Your deposit is non-refundable
  •      • If cancellation is received in writing more than 30 days prior to the retreat commencing, any payments made (less the deposit) will be refunded in full
  •      • If cancellation is received in writing between 29 days and 7 days prior to the retreat commencing, 50% of any payments made (less the deposit) will be refunded
  •      • If cancellation is received in writing less than 7 days prior to the retreat commencing, no refund will be issued
  •      • In the case of a no-show, no refund will be issued
  •      • If you fail to make the balance payment 30 days prior to the retreat commencing, your place on the retreat will be released and no refund issued on any payments made
