How often do we hear the phrase “life is too short”? Life is too short to hold a grudge, life is too short to be worried, life is too short to stress about the little things etc etc. In basic terms it means that there’s no point in sweating the small stuff and is a way of putting things into perspective.  This phrase has become part of our language and has become an accepted way of telling ourself and others to let things go.

Why You Shouldn’t Say “Life Is Too Short”

Whilst it’s good to acknowledge that we should not focus on the negative, when we say “life is too short”, we are telling our subconscious mind and the entire universe that we expect our lives to be short and that since life is short we will never have time to do all the good things that we want to do. By doing this we are putting limitations and blocks in place that will stop us from going out and having fun and living our lives to the fullest.

So, instead of saying life is too short, how about we just say, “this thing that is bothering me is not important enough to consume me and overpower me”? You can then take some deep breaths and release the negative feeling from your body without putting limits on yourself.

Life is long. Make the most of it and live it to the happiest!
